Launch-level wind
Take-off wind comes from model levels at the height of each launch, not from sea-level wind, and is checked against each launch's wind window.
Wind, gusts, cloud base and rain for every Babadağ take-off above Ölüdeniz, calculated at the altitude of each launch and updated through the day.

Take-off wind comes from model levels at the height of each launch, not from sea-level wind, and is checked against each launch's wind window.
An hourly status for every launch, a 7-day calendar and the daylight flying window, with the last ticket and last flight times when the field team publishes them.
Estimated cloud base compared with launch altitude, thermal strength, rain, and thunderstorm reports from Dalaman airport (METAR).
Warnings for land breeze (offshore wind blowing from the land to the sea) on the beach landing field and for strong northerly flow aloft in the afternoon.
| Launch | Altitude | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1965 North | 1965 m · 6447 ft | Highest launch, close to the summit. |
| 1900 Patara | 1900 m · 6234 ft | Has its own forecast card; a reading from a nearby launch is never copied to it. |
| 1800 | 1800 m · 5906 ft | Compare the take-off wind with the upper-level profile; local flow and rotor can differ on site. |
| 1700 South | 1700 m · 5577 ft | Check direction, gusts and rain probability; the cloud base is a model estimate. |
| 1200 | 1200 m · 3937 ft | Lower launch: read the low-level wind and the change towards the landing separately. |
| Ölüdeniz landing | sea level | Beach landing field; land-breeze warnings apply here. |
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Suitable | Within the forecast thresholds for that hour. It is not a launch permit. |
| Risky | One or more caution conditions apply; open the reasons on the live panel. |
| Confirm on site | The models disagree or the wind is light and variable: the field decides. |
| Not suitable | A weather threshold is exceeded, a thunderstorm is reported nearby, or it is outside daylight hours. |
| No data | Current data could not be verified; old values are never shown as current. |
The binding launch decision for the Fethiye–Babadağ flying area comes from the Fethiye Slot Service Centre (SHM) and the field team. Wind observations entered by slot staff are shown as "Field observation" for 60 minutes and override the model. Model values are never labelled live.
No. It is a model-based assessment to help you plan. On the day, the official decision is made by the Slot Service Centre and the field team.
Not on this site at the moment. When slot staff enter a wind observation from a launch, it is shown with its time for 60 minutes. Every other value is a model forecast and is labelled as such.
Numerical weather models evaluated at each launch, Dalaman airport METAR and TAF reports for the coast, and sunrise and sunset times for the flying window.
The forecast is uncertain for that hour: the models disagree or the wind is light and changing. Ask the field team and watch the windsock before you take off.
